Research + Planning: Target Audience Profile
In the previous post, I created and sent out a questionnaire to my high school to identify my target audience. I turned the results I got into a pie chart to identify the difference between answers better. The results were extremely close for this, but there is a little more females in my audience. Because of this and also because of what I personally want to do, I want my magazine to be mainly feminine, but I will try to make it more gender neutral, or at least make parts of my magazine gender neutral. Planning: Original Idea + Moodboard & Genre
After analysing some magazines, I thought of the main idea for my magazine (vibe, contents etc): Necessary elements: The main reason why I don’t want any models in my magazine is because I want to divert the reader’s attention from who the model is and how they look, to the design of the clothes and its materials. This seems like Vogue’s unique signature, but also, the letter ‘G’ is in the centre of ‘Vogue’, and therefore, it could be used as a guideline to know where and how to position the models on the cover. At first glance, it can be used to place…

Research: Magazine conventions
To begin my research for my final project, my teacher told us to start with magazine conventions. With this site, I learned more in detail about the necessities of a magazine (magazine cover, table of contents, and articles). Below are the necessities and a short definition. Magazine covers: The magazine cover is the first thing the reader sees, and therefore should be visually striking and attractive. Table of contents: For the table of contents, I analysed different tables of contents (on Pinterest) to learn what needs to be included. The table of contents will outline sections and subheadings, along with their corresponding page numbers. It should be in chronological order…
