Model
Initially I asked an Indian friend of mine to model of this photoshoot but them the shoot got postponed and then she was not available during the dates of the postponed photoshoot, hence I became the model myself and then asked my Classmate to click the pictures for me.
Mood board
The vibe I was going for is a historical, royal and rich feels, like how India was during the rule of the Mughal Empire. I took my inspiration from pinterest, more specifically the collage below

I wanted to use these poses in my photoshoot as these are the kind of clothes that Indian classical dancers normally wear, in particular, Kathak dancers and not only limit my fashion article to cloths normal people wear in everyday life. The layered skirts, rich textile, delicate embroidery and structured yet fluid forms creates a sense of drama and grace that everyday outfits cannot capture. It acknowledges that fashion can be rooted in heritage, rhythm and ritual and not just contemporary street style.
During shoot
These are some of the behind – the – scenes that were clicked by my teacher.

A challenges that I faced, was that I did not think of a vast variety of poses to do in front of the camera before the shoot. So during the shoot I started to look for more inspirations on Pinterest but its was not showing me the kind of results that I wanted. And because it was really cold in the room where we were shooting as the heaters were not working at school, my mind was more concerned on keeping myself warm than thinking to think of poses.
So for the nest photoshoot I will make sure to have more photos for inspiration.
