How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
My skills progressed from experimenting with layout to intentionally crafting a cohesive, visually engaging magazine. I improved in visual hierarchy, typography, storytelling, and overall design.
Visual storytelling. The pages with flowing, abstract text about identity, beyond just placing content to actually communicating a mood. The integration of text with imagery where words wrap and distort alongside the visuals.
Typography and layout consistency. Headings, quotes, and body text arew more deliberate. I began to balance creativity with readability.
My concept development also strengthens. Growth in planning and branding (e.g the “Amor Fati”), thinking not just about individual pages, but the magazine as a cohesive product.
Technical production skills, like alignment, layering, and use of white space. The layouts are controlled and professional.
My research and planning developed lot through this whole process from the beginning of researching conventions to analysing magazines and then to creating my own it was a key step to plan ahead and research things you aren’t sure about to help run everything smoothly to the end product.
