My name is Julián Espinoza, I am 18 years old and from Ecuador. I am currently a student in year 13 at Transylvania College, an international school in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
I have chosen to study Media Studies because I was told it was a “new” subject in our school and it consists on making videos and even though I had minimal experience on editing, filming, I was always interested in how it was to act, edit, and making videos myself and this was the chance to choose this subject. Another reason is that I also chose sociology last year and these 2 subjects are somewhat connected so choosing both of them would be even more interesting. And I always wanted to have a deeper understanding of all the work, creativity that must go into the production process of films. Overall, seeing media studies as a subject that I could pick felt like an amazing opportunity.
After all, the world we are living in is very much connected to technology, so understanding media would give me a deeper connection with the world and this generation.
This was what I felt when I first took media studies and sociology,(last year), this year I already have some experience with what I will be facing this year, making me more ready and determined to do better.
