This image is from when it is almost finished; it involves all the cuts and transitions that I added. So, to go step by step.
Cuts

For the cuts, especially in the montage sections, I had to make numerous edits to the original videos and images to fit a specific time frame that I wanted. For example, from the start until the beginning of the small montage, I made many cuts and adjustments regarding the duration. I had to choose which parts to include from both the beginning and the end of the video, determining which were more important or had a greater impact.

In the segment where Amelia talks about New Year’s Eve, I encountered a lot of fun clips that I had to cut. I also had to decide on the order of the clips based on what she was saying, ensuring that the videos served their role as B-roll effectively.

One issue I faced was that a significant portion of my B-roll was archived, and many of the videos that fit perfectly were filmed vertically. To address this, I had to think creatively about how to integrate them into the final product. In one particular case, I cropped some clips and aligned them in a way that I thought looked good. As a result, a scene that I personally love and think looks amazing emerged from what initially seemed like a problem.
Transitions
I will ssay that I used some transitions but not many, due to the reason that when I was studing what where the conventions and stereotypes of documentatries something I reaised what that some documentaries use transitions but very rarly, they rather use Hard-cut or L-cuts, or J-cuts. so I did the same.

For this one at the start I did use a tradition, with a fading effect.

Here are some parts where I used some hard cuts to make an easy transition.

Here I used a J-cut, and the audio from the next scene starts while I have the same visual.

Here I used a L-cut with the audio.
Editing this project was really fun, I gained a lot experienced and I can say I developed a new skill. And I think it looks really well, especially since it is my first project that I had to do with a professional app, and it kind of looks professional-ish.
