Idea & concept<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The concept for this photoshoot is Spring Awakening, which focuses on the arrival of spring as a symbol of renewal and positivity. The photos will highlight bright colours, natural light, and flowy clothes to visually communicate the feeling of warmth and new beginnings. I want to capture spring by taking photos in a setting that screams \u201cwinter is gone and spring has arrived\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since my target audience is women, it seems natural for the cover to feature a woman as well, representative to the people I\u2019m trying to reach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I chose this concept because spring is strongly associated with fresh starts, and I genuinely need one of those. Plus I\u2019m excited for the sun to finally come out and not have to wake up in darkness and leave school as it starts to get dark. A cover needs to attract immediate attention, and bright outdoor imagery with flowers and sunlight is eye-catching and engaging for the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This concept suits my magazine because it fits within the lifestyle genre, where seasonal trends and visual aesthetics are very important. Additionally, the theme links subtly to the psychological part I\u2019m adding to this magazine, as the use of bright, warm tones can create a positive emotional response. This makes the cover not only visually appealing but also psychologically effective, encouraging readers to feel uplifted and interested in the magazine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Model<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For this photoshoot I will take the role of a model. I like taking photos and experimenting with poses and expressions, but often I am the photographer and not the one being photographed, so I took this opportunity to become both. I will use a tripod to get some of the photos, but in addition to that, my boyfriend offered to help. I will be the \u201cmanager\u201d, so I will decide the poses, the background, and tell him from what angle he should shoot from and which compositions he should use. He can also help me with behind-the-scenes pics since he will definitely take this as an opportunity to take photos when I\u2019m unprepared. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spring fashion often includes lighter fabrics, softer colours, and floral elements, so these are some of the elements I will use when mixing-and-matching the outfits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Red dress<\/strong>: stands out against the background, boldness<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(In the photo inspiration above the dresses are white\/yellow, this is because initially I wanted to have a yellow dress. Unfortunately I could not find the type of dress I was looking for anywhere, I looked through my closet, my mum’s, I asked my friends, and I went to a few stores but they didn’t have that flowy yellow dress I pictured. I found one similar but it was out of my price range. So ultimately I went with my second choice, red, because I own a long red summer dress. I kept the photos above because even though the colour won’t match, they are helpful in terms of poses and location.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fabric:<\/strong> Light, airy (chiffon\/cotton), moves nicely in wind<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hair:<\/strong> Natural waves<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Makeup:<\/strong> glowy skin, soft pink blush, light gloss<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accessories:<\/strong> dainty gold jewellery, cherry earrings<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To once again reinforce this spring idea, the props will be flowers, or just petals, and light accessories instead of chunky ones.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Location <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The location of this photoshoot will be outside since that is the best way to showcase that this is a Spring Issue. The plan is to go to the La Terenuri Sport Centre, firstly because it\u2019s close to my house so if there\u2019s anything extra I need I can run and get it, and secondly because there\u2019s a large green space with no trees that the sun shines onto, which is exactly what I need. It may seem like a crazy idea to take spring fashion pictures at a sports centre, but my plan is to take photos laying on grass, so this is where the green space will come in handy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My other idea is with a tree in the back. Considering that the outfit has to stand out in the background, the tree will have either white flowers, or simply without any and just the green nature. This is where I would have the flower bouquet in my hand. The vision is that the whole background will be the colour of those flowers blooming in the tree, which will be less in focus than the subject itself (the model).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The problem with this plan is that the weather has been quite rainy and I would need it to be sunny and need bloomed flowers. An alternative just in case is to go to the Botanical Garden instead. This place has an indoor greenhouse in which I could take the photos needed if it is raining outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This photoshoot will take place during the last week of March, so hopefully the weather will be sunny and I will get the right end results. I need the natural golden light the sun gives, so around 7PM, before the sun sets. I will also take some photos in the forest next to my house earlier in the morning, after the sun rises, and compare the two types of lighting. What I am looking for is that soft light, not too sharp during peak hours but not too dark, once it already starts setting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
