The only camera we used was an iPhone 15 Pro Max, and Mark was responsible for all of the filming. We occasionally used the cinematic setting in the camera app, which gave the shots a more professional look by adding extra depth to the images. For example, this was used in a medium close-up of ‘the victim’ nervously laughing during a tarot reading. After filming, all the footage was transferred to DaVinci Resolve for further editing, which Carla handled.
As for my role in the creative process, I was in charge of sound and music recording, which was done with the help of technology. While recording, once I had a clear idea of the key elements I wanted to capture, I placed the iPhone 15 Pro Max inside a royal piano to better capture the sound. The recording was done using the simple audio recording app on the iPhone. By the end of the session, we had around five “cuts,” each take about 7-10 minutes each. Each idea and motif was played multiple times so that we could choose the best version later on.
For the poster I used my brother’s Ipad and the app called ProCreate, I made a font with an Apple Pen which made my creative process a lot easier and pleasant.
Once the audio was recorded, it was also imported into DaVinci Resolve for further editing. For example, we manipulated the sound by reversing it during the scene where the victim is panicking, which was done with the app’s simple “reverse” feature.
After the film was completed, it was transferred to all team members via the WeTransfer app to preserve its original high resolution. The link was then sent individually to each team member via email.
