On second day, we were focused on filming the scenes that required hard makeup and more detailed mise-en-scene.
The day was far more time-consuming than the first, we were planning to film about a half of our movie if not more… We began by going over the notes and mood board to get everything in place. Me and my team discussed over our plans one more time, after that we started to get ready. Carla did her bruised up makeup while I was busy doing my hair. I used gel to imitate frosted-like hair since The Entity lives in a harsh and weather-dependent conditions, then Carla did my Entity makeup. We didn’t have a fixed makeup plan, so we had to improvise with what was available at the time. For instance, Carla creatively used her eyeshadow mixed with leftover makeup remover to make an effect of a golden tears, the process was incredibly fun! After that, Mihnea was given the jacket and wig for his stunt double role. Getting our costumes together took about two hours due to the weather conditions – at least three extra layers were a must, we rushed to make sure we had enough daylight to capture everything we needed before the sun set since the sun was our only source of light.
The hardest scene to film was the one where The Victim and The Entity exchange tarot cards. The most difficult part was at the end, when The Victim’s impatience triggers The Entity(me) to strike her. We filmed this scene at the very end so both of us were extremely wet and cold, besides that – neither of us had much experience with acting, so it took multiple takes and effort to get the right emotions and timing. Since Carla is not just my teammate but my best friend it was hard for me to get over the idea of hitting her, it took multiple takes and a lot of nervous laughs behind the camera to film “this “the” scene. Right after we got an acceptable take we rushed to the house as fast as we could!
