making of and behind the scenes
A big problem with this photoshoot was that it was delayed too much because I needed to take the photos outside while it was warm and flowers were bloomed. I knew from the beginning that it might not bloom when I want, but I really hoped the weather and nature will be with me. Unfortunately the weather was not good in the last period, so I decided to do the photoshoot at the backup location: Alexandru Borza Botanical Garden. I decided on the greenhouse since it is an indoor place filled with plants. But honestly, I had my doubts about this place since I really wanted to do it outside and I was unsure about how the photos will turn out and if they will match my vision. This is why I delayed this photoshoot until 29th of March, which was a really bad decision because I should have just went with my back up option from the beginning and I would have had much more time to finish everything that way.
So, at 9:30 AM, me and Marc (my assistant) went to Iarina’s house (the model) to make sure everything is going well and we went together from there. Before going to her house we stoped at Lidl and got two bouquets of roses (pink and yellow), water and a chocolate. At around 10 AM we ordered a Bolt and went to our destination. It was really good that I had this option indoors, because it’s been raining the past few days in Cluj and so did this morning. The greenhouse had 3 main parts where we could go, but we only went in 2 because we didn’t like the last one as much. We stayed for around 2 hours, so we finished around 12.
During the photoshoot I altered between my lens () and the one from my teacher(), but I found my lens much easier to work with (even though I wouldn’t have the same quality). A problem I had here was that the light was quite poor and dark, so I have to edit them much more to make them look brighter.
In the end, I really liked this option because it mixes nature with a more modern feel, especially because of the walls and the overall design of the greenhouse. I feel like it created an even better understanding of my audience as it emphasises how newer generations are more urbanised and technologically driven, which is different from how everyone before us was.
These are some photos of the location that I took and some photos that Marc took of us:
