Looking back at everything I’ve done in this project I feel really proud not only because it’s finished but because it actually got close to the vision that I had since before i wrote the script.

Honestly when I first imagined my final I wanted it to feel eerie, mysterious, and creepy which is something that didn’t fully achieve but still i hope that I successfully made the audience feel tense and I think the final version manages to capture that. I used a black-and-white filter, disorienting visuals, and ambient creepy sounds in order to build that mood. The credits were placed in the biginning and I was careful with how everything was timed so that my film opening didn’t end up looking like a short scetch. Watching it now it actually feels more intense and stylized than I expected it would at first, i feel like i blended everything really well considering that i can now say that I didn’t gather the best shots but hopefully i made then work well enough and the audience will enjoy my project.

Of course, there are things I would do differently if I had the chance to start over because through this experience i gathered a lot of information. Firstly, I wish I had planned out my shots a bit more before filming because that way I could’ve gathered more and maybe even better. A lot of the shots came together during editing and while that fortunately it worked out but having a more solid structure would’ve saved me time. I also relied on pre made sound effects rather than recording original Foley, and while it still worked well I think that adding my own sounds would’ve taken it to another level.

Still I’ve learned so much during this project especially about how powerful editing, sound, and shot choices are when it comes to shaping a film’s whole mood and atmosphere. Even small things like the timing of a filter or the placement of a click sound had a huge effect on how the scene felt and what message its sending the audience. I’m way more confident now using tools like CapCut to work for profesional projects because of this project as i had to watch a lot of tutorials in order too understand how the apodo works and how i can apply my knowledge into my final project That’s a skill I know I’ll carry into any media work I do in the future.

Now that I’ve uploaded the final version to YouTube I can watch it and say “I made that” and it really makes me feel good because even if its not perfect or profesional looking I can proudly say that i got to put it all together by myself. This project has pushed me to be more focused, more creative and thought me a lot of technical things that are taking place behind the scenes of a movie. Even though there were moments when I felt stuck or unsure, finishing this gave me a real sense of achievement.

After months of planning, filming, editing and refining I finally got to finish the final cut of my film opening.
