From the beginning I knew I wanted a creepy ambient soundtrack that would help build tension without being too obvious. Finding a background noise that wasn\u2019t too obvious but could be heard and built tension without interfering with my actors lines and how the dialogue sounds was hard. In the first instance I wanted to go for classical music as i knew some songs that could\u2019ve fired my mood but they weren\u2019t good enough.In the end i found exactly what i was looking for actually on cap cut.<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I used Cap Cut\u2019s library and choose a mix of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Random clicks<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Some re recorded lines<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Ambient horror music&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 A short burning wood sound that added a subtle crackling effect<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of these were selected to match the scenes visually while also fitting the vibe&nbsp;&nbsp;The clicks were placed before or after the ghosts appear\/disappear.The burning sound helped bring texture to a quiet scene where not much was happening visually as i added it when the main character passed out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I didn\u2019t record any Foley myself but I carefully selected and layered sound effects so they would feel natural and believable. The sound became a huge part of making the audience feel uncomfortable or curious.
