I\u2019m really pleased with how the interview turned out. The visuals were clear and the audio quality was much better than I initially expected considering the fact that I didn\u2019t have the opportunity of using a microphone but thanks to my decision to conduct the interview in a quiet office the whole interview went smooth and I didn\u2019t have to retake shots. The owner of the kindergarten was also really sweet and easy to talk to, she was hospitable and opened to responding to all of my questions. The final product felt natural, with the interviewee giving insightful answers rather than short, scripted responses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve always been interested in interviews and podcasts, so I saw this as a chance to explore that format before moving into my final thriller project. Watching \u201cthe diary of a ceo\u201d which is a popular YouTube channel that has some impressive interviews and podcasts inspired me to focus on lighting, composition and how to guide the conversation so that it felt authentic rather than forced. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The aspect I\u2019m most proud of is how natural the interview felt. The interviewee was comfortable which made their responses more engaging. I also think I did a good job with framing and lighting something I was initially concerned about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I do find this project creative because conducting a good interview isn\u2019t just about asking questions it involves creating a captivating narrative and engaging visuals that tell a story, I had to think creatively to ensure the final product was interesting and dynamic rather than just a monotonous dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I realized how much I enjoy capturing real stories and turning them into a media product which can be appreciated by other people through interesting visuals and and playful narrative. This experience also showed me that I can adapt quickly when filming whether it\u2019s adjusting the framing or guiding the conversation naturally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This project strengthened the importance of preparation in my perspective. Researching interview techniques, setting up the right location and preparing questions in advance all made a huge difference in the final result. I also learned that small details like positioning the camera at the right angle or using natural lighting can significantly improve the look and feel of an interview. I also got to gain the experience of talking with a business owner which empowered my way por looking at this field of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For my final thriller project I want to improve my time management. While this interview went well I spent a lot of time organising, second guessing my questions and editing in an inefficient way. For my thriller I\u2019ll need to be more efficient with editing to meet deadlines. Additionally I want to push my creativity further by experimenting with more dynamic camera angles to enhance the suspenseful tone of my film which weren\u2019t possible for this project as they wouldn\u2019t suit an interview. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Completing this interview was a valuable experience that allowed me to improve my storyline and techincal skills while exploring the documentary format.
