After wrapping up my filming day, I ended up with way more footage than I needed for the final 2-minute intro of the thriller which was part of the plan, and honestly, it was awesome to see everything we shot. I could immediately spot some frames that i knew will fit in perfectly right away and a few that just didn’t make the cut.

I went through the clips from my camera roll to pick out the best ones. Some shots caught my eye right away like the one pov from when Ben wakes up and sees the ghost for the first time, even if it might have been a bit too slow for the actual cut i can fix that through editing. I stumbled upon a few takes I hadn’t planned, but they had nice lighting or a bit of shake that fit the thriller mood perfectly. A couple of scenes didn’t turn out like I wanted, but that helped me sift through the options.

I put together a raw montage no music, no effects or heavy editing just arranged the scenes based on my rough plan so that i could see how the final might look like. I didn’t stress about pacing or perfect cuts just yet as I wanted to see how everything came together before i got into it seriously. The montage is nearly the right length, but I know there’s still more editing to do as the cuts aren’t really put together.

While i was watching the raw cut, I saw some things I liked. The opening did a solid job of building tension, especially with the countdown and the first looks at the characters. Some transitions didn’t quite hit the mark, and a few scenes felt too long nd didn’t fit the vibe or too short. Overall, the structure made sense but the flow needs some tweaking.

Right now, I need to focus on pacing and making sure the suspense builds just right and that the scene with the ghost girl lands perfectly. I’ll also adjust the audio, play around with the lighting to increase the eerie atmosphere, add music and make sure it all feels smooth and cinematic.

For now I’ve got a working version and I’ll keep polishing it until it really feels like the start of a thriller.
